KEEP AWAY FROM CATS. Cats are unable to process the key ingredients in Advantix. They should be distanced from the dog for up to 24 hours after application. Some dogs may experience a burning, itching, tingling, or numbness of the skin after application.
May cause a slight irritation on the point of contact, but this usually subsides within a few hours. If pain persists, contact a vet. Oral contact may cause salivation. If K9 Advantix gets into you or your dogs eyes, flush with water immediately.
This sensation usually subsides within 3 days, however if symptoms persist, consult your veterinarian.
K9 Advantix is an effective, once a month flea & tick treatment that uses three types of medication (imidacloprid, permethrin, pyriproxyfen) to kill, prevent the growth of, and repel these pesky parasites. Imidacloprid is the most widely used insecticide in the world, attacking the central nervous system of fleas, while having little to no effect on mammals. Permethrin works in much the same way as imidacloprid, but against ticks, killing them on contact. Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator (IGR), which means that it prevents flea larvae from further developing into adults, thereby stopping the flea life cycle in its tracks.
K9 Advantix is for dogs only. K9 Advantix should not be used in dogs that are in a debilitated state, elderly, pregnant, nursing, or under 7 weeks of age. Dogs that are taking other flea and tick medication should not be taking K9 Advantix, and dogs with a known allergy to any of the ingredients in K9 Advantix should not take this treatment. Cats should NEVER be given K9 Advantix, as they are unable to process permethrin. Contact to this medication by cats can be serious and even fatal. Cats should be kept away from dogs taking K9 Advantix up to 24 hours after being treated.
The proper way to apply K9 Advantix is to take the applicator tube out of its packaging and remove the cap, holding upright so as to not spill the contents. Depending on your dog’s weight, apply the solution in either 3 or 4 spots along their spine, between the shoulder blades and the base of their tail. Make sure to apply directly to the skin by ruffling their fur. Place a third to a quarter of the tubes contents in each of the spots of application, being careful to avoid dripping. Allow a few hours for the solution to dry before petting or bathing. The solution is waterproof, so once dry, there is no need to reapply if your dog decides to go swimming or is in need of a bath.

As these fleas emerge and jump on treated pets they are hopefully being killed by the flea product.
Therefore within 3 to 8 weeks or occasionally as long as 3 months, all the adult fleas and immature life stage biomass should be gone.6,7 How bad a flea i
